The Herbal Consultation
The first appointment can last up to one and a half hours. During this time you will be asked questions regarding your present state of health, your diet and lifestyle. A full detailed medical history is also taken and where necessary a physical examination may be carried out, e.g. your blood pressure may be taken or heart and lungs may be listened to. Everything is documented and filed in total confidence.
After consultation with the patient the herbalist will make an herbal preparation unique for you. In addition, in most cases advice will be offered regarding diet and lifestyle.
Follow up consultation last up to an hour and serve to assess your progress, your feelings and experiences and to make any adjustments if necessary to your herbal preparations.
Tinctures are the most common form of herbal medicine prescribed. Tinctures are liquid medicines taken 2-3 times daily usually 1-2 teaspoons with water 20-30 minutes before meals.
The first follow up consultation is usually 2 weeks after the initial consultation. Further follow up consultations are usually at 4-6 week intervals.
Please bring a list of any current prescribed medication and or supplements you are taking and any recent test results which you can request from your GP.
Please give 48 hours notice if you are unable to make an appointment or you will be charged a £30 cancellation fee.
